ABOUT OIL
ABOUT DOLLARWISE & DOLLARWISEOIL.COM
ABOUT MY HOME & EQUIPMENT
How do you price your heating oil?
Our retail price for heating oil is based on many factors; such as the cost of crude oil, season, weather, operating & transportation costs and more.
Where does the heating oil you deliver to me come from?
The heating oil we deliver comes primarily from North America.
What is the difference between COD and automatic delivery?
When ordering heating oil on a COD basis, you must monitor your own tank level to ensure you don’t run out of oil. You must also pay for your delivery at the time your oil is delivered. With automatic delivery, your tank level is monitored using computer software to determine when you will need your next delivery; so you won’t run out of oil. You will also be extended credit terms and be sent a bill in the mail.
Why should I order at DollarWiseOil.com?
It’s safe, simple, and easy; and links directly to our delivery department. You can place your order anytime, using a computer, tablet or Smartphone.
Is placing an order on DollarWiseOil.com safe?
Yes. Placing an order on our website is completely safe because we have a Thawte SSL Certificate installed on our web server. This SSL Certificate is used to secure and encrypt personal and payment information entered on our website.

Where do I enter my promotion code on the website?
You can enter your promo code during the check-out process; once you tell us how many gallons you’re ordering.
What is the price of oil today?
You can check today’s oil price by entering your zip code in the “View Price” box above.
Are there a minimum number of gallons I need to order?
Yes. There is a 100 gallon minimum.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, electronic checks, manual checks and money orders.
How do I know when my oil will be delivered?
We’ll give you a delivery date (and time if you’re a new customer) at the time you place your order.
Can I save my order and finish it later?
Due to the possibility the price may change, you can’t save your order and finish it at a later time.

Why do I get an error page on the website?

How do you remember me when I come back to the website?
We use cookies to remember who you are; in order to enhance your experience while visiting DollarWiseOil.com.
Will I get an invoice in the mail?
You will not get an invoice in the mail. Your delivery ticket, which is left at the time of delivery, will tell you how many gallons you had delivered and the price per gallon. You can also log in to your account online and view your delivery history.
What happens if more oil is delivered than I ordered?
On rare occasions, we may deliver more oil than you asked for. It’s usually a very small amount; and in those cases we won’t charge you. In an instance where we over-deliver by more than $5.00 worth of oil, you will be responsible for paying the difference.
What happens if less oil is delivered than I ordered?
If you paid by credit card, we will credit your card once the delivery is made. If you paid by check or money order, we will keep the credit on your account to use towards your next order; unless you tell us otherwise.
What is the definition of “same day delivery”?
If you live in one of the many areas where same day delivery is available, you can place your order up until 11:00am and have it delivered that same day.
What is the definition of “next day delivery”?
In most of the areas we service, you can place your order up until midnight and have it delivered the next day.
Why do you charge a fee for “same day delivery”?
While we send our trucks out pretty early in the morning, we put the most efficient delivery route for each truck together even earlier. Once the delivery schedule is in place, each order that’s added reroutes the driver; making the day’s schedule a little less efficient.

How do I know if I use oil to heat my home?
You will have an oil tank connected to your heating system. Oil tanks are typically located in the basement, garage, outside above ground, or underground. There will be a “fill pipe” connected to your tank.
Do I have a furnace or a boiler?
You can identify what type of heating system you have by simply checking to see if you have radiators, baseboard or vents in your house. Boilers heat steam or water and deliver heat through radiators or baseboard. Furnaces heat air and deliver heat through vents.
How big is my oil tank?
Most oil tanks located above ground (in your basement, garage or outside) are 275 gallon tanks. The dimensions of a standard 275 gallon tank are 26” (W) x44” (H) x60” (l). Most oil tanks located in-ground are 550 gallon and 1,000 gallon tanks. Please ask our driver the size of your tank when he performs your visual safety inspection; at the time of your first delivery.
How much oil will my tank hold?
It will hold as many gallons as your tank size. However, only about 90% of the gallons are “usable gallons”, meaning you cannot access the other 10% at the bottom of the tank.
What should I do if I have no heat?
Try these five things first.  If you don’t have any luck, give us a call and we’ll help.
  1. Check your thermostat to make sure it’s high enough for the heat to go on.
  2. Check your gauge to make sure you have oil in your tank.
  3. Locate your emergency shutoff switch.  It’s usually located near the basement steps or next to your heating system, and has a red switch cover.  Make sure the switch is in the "ON" position.
  4. Sometimes a simple system reset is all that’s needed. Locate your heating system’s burner and press the red reset button ONCE (and only ONCE) and listen for the system to start up.
  5. Check for any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers in your electrical supply panel. A breaker switch is tripped if it is moved slightly from the “ON” position.
If I’m out of oil, can you "prime and start" my system?
Yes. Give us a call and we can send one of our licensed service technicians out to get your system back up and running. *Fee associated.
What is a "prime and start"?
In simple terms, it’s when you remove the air from the oil line between your oil tank, and your burner. If you have air in the oil line, it will not work.
Why do you need to perform a safety check if I'm a new customer?
We want to make sure that it's safe to deliver oil to your home, without posing a risk to you or your home. Don’t worry, it's free of charge.
